Obituary of Margaret Lee Shurley

Margaret Lee Shurley, age 98, passed away on January 15, 2018, in Ardmore, Okla.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with The Reverend David Daniel officiating. Private interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

 

Margaret was born on November 14, 1919, to Orien Groce Fullingim and Selma Lee (Scholz) Fullingim. She graduated from Dickson High School class of 1937 and went on to attend Ardmore Business School. Margaret married Ray Shurley in December of 1940 and from this union came four children. In 1965 this marriage ended.   Margaret raised cows until her 90’s. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ardmore. She enjoyed painting ceramics.

 

She was preceded in death by, grandson, Wes Taliaferro in 1991, brother, Paul Fullingim and one infant Baby Brother.

 

Margaret is survived by four children, Janet Culley and husband, Bill, Cheryl Taliaferro and husband, Charles, Michael Shurley and Pamela Shurley, five grandchildren:  Monica Coleman of Tuttle, Darren Culley and wife, Michelle, of Lone Grove, Gayle McKinley and husband, Eric, of Edmond, Wade Taliaferro and wife, Sonya, of Lone Grove, Erin Shurley and wife, Ashlee, of Edmond, thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
