Obituary of Ronnie Dale Roy

Ronnie Dale Roy, 68, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in Oakland, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla. Private interment following in Provence Cemetery, Carter County, Okla.

Ronnie was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, on February 18, 1949, to Bill Roy and Opal Elizabeth Roy. He attended school and graduated from Dickson High School in the Class of 1968.  Ronnie married Miss Donna Welch on October 24, 1969, in Broken Arrow, Okla. He worked for Pioneer Gas at Little City, Okla., where he worked for 13 years. He took a position with McCoy Tree services for 12 years until his retirement. He loved to play his guitar, writing songs and sing. He liked playing checkers and chess.  Ronnie enjoyed hunting and fishing, and later in life he loved watching his OU Sooners and the Oklahoma CityThunder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Roy and Opal Elizabeth Roberts, infant son, Tommy Dewayne Roy, and two sisters, Linda Kay Mitchell and Bridgett Darlene Hill.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Donna Roy, of Tishomingo, Okla. Two sons: Randy Roy and wife, Amie, of Ardmore and Kristopher Roy and wife, Danielle, of Lawrence, Kansas, five grandchildren: Autumn, Taylor, Abbigail, Addison, and Caden. Two great-grandchildren: Chandler and Tacen.  Two brothers: Charles Roberts and wife, Margie, of Lone Grove, Okla., and Mark Roberts and wife Rita of Madill.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Jason Roberts, Justin Roberts, Austin Roberts, Taylor Roy, Gregory Mitchell, and Dusty Rhodes.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, January 15, 2018, at Griffin~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
