Ruth Merle Clevenger, age 75, passed away on July 31, 2017, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2017, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Ruth was born on July 27, 1942, to Walter H. Allred and Pleasie Marie (Myers) Allred, in Brookfield, Missouri. As a child, she was saved in New Cambria, Missouri, at Puzzle Ridge Baptist Church. She graduated Macon High School in Missouri. She married Brian Richard Clevenger in Macon, MO, and they were married for 20 years. She was the resident supervisor for the Family Shelter of Southern Oklahoma for 22 years. She attended the First Christian Church. She loved her grandchildren and was their biggest fan at all sporting events or any activity they had. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Brian Richard Clevenger in February of 1988, longtime companion, Curt Dodson, daughter, Rhonda Kay Mullinix, son, Michael Clevenger, four brothers, JW, Douglas, Jerald Dean, and Baby Boy Allred, and one nephew, Howard Mullinix. Ruth is survived by daughter, Jamie Ashley, and husband Jay, of Ardmore, Okla., son, Brian Clevenger and wife, Shannon, of Forney, Texas, step-daughter, Holli Bondie and husband Tim, of Oklahoma City, Okla., step-son, Lee Hudson, of Overbrook, Okla., grandchildren, Hunter Clevenger, JJ Ashley, Justice Throneberry, Shawn McClellan, Jeff Dobbs and wife, Stephanie, Tyler Clevenger and wife, Rosalynd, Austin Clevenger, Michael Dobbs, Zach Dobbs, Katie Dobbs, one sister, Maxine Mullinix, of Tipton MO, one brother, Ronald Allred, and wife Anna, of Jacksonville, MO, sister-in-law, Gayle Godwin and husband Don, and her faithful companion, Lacy. Lifelong friends, Judy Griffith, Jodie Isenberg and Lynette Patterson. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
