Obituary of Brent Charles Henry

Brent Charles “Big Savage” Henry, age 30, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 6, 2017, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with the Reverend Vincent Baptiste officiating. Interment to follow in Nelda Cemetery. Brent was born on May 27, 1986, in Ada, Okla., to Charles Henry and Barbara (Sampson) Henry. He attended Dickson Schools, where he played football and enjoyed music. He excelled at singing and rapping. He traveled to Mississippi to perform numerous times. Brent later transferred to Ardmore Schools and graduated from Ardmore High School in 2004. He worked at various jobs, later going to work for Flanders Precision Air until his passing. Brent was an avid Raiders and OU football fan. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Though miles kept him apart from his daughter, Aubree, he loved spending time talking on the phone with her for hours. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Grady Charles Henry, grandmother, Irene Mose, brother, Brandon Henry, special cousin, Kara Sampson, niece, Schloe Henry, and uncles: Milton Ray Henry Sr., Franklin Henry, Hanson Henry, Eddie Sampson, Dennis Sampson, and Dale Sampson. Brent is survived by his mother, Barbara Shoemaker, father, Charles Henry, grandmother, Faye Taylor, daughter, Aubree Shase Polk, brothers: Chad Henry and wife, Renee, and Alex Henry, and sister, Charlene Henry and husband, Freddie Bellard. Aunt, Janet Frazier, and uncle, Bryant Henry, both of Philadelphia, Miss., and nieces: Kaprell, Brandica, Kambrea, Taleah, Nykia, and Kemya. Host of family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Stanton, Carlos Shiffer, Austin Leyja, Zack Sampson, Anthony Joe, and Chad Henry. Honorary bearers will be Michael Joe, Derrick Postoak, Dave Frazier, and Tim Hickman. There will be a wake service on Thursday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, January 5, 2017, in the Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla. Condolences may be left at www.griffinhillcrest.com
