Obituary of Leroy McDonald

Leroy McDonald, age 92, passed away on November 6, 2023 in Ardmore, Okla. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, November 10, 2023, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Reverend Mike Gross Officiating. Cremation under the direction of Hillcrest Crematory. Leroy was born on December 5, 1930 in Wilson, Okla., to Ben McDonald and Mary (Johnston) McDonald. He attended and graduated from Ardmore High School. After graduation he took a position at Hudson Huston Lumber Company. He married Etta Postoak in 1951 in Gainesville, Texas. The couple moved to Midland, Texas where he worked in construction and then moved back to Ardmore for a short time. They were moving throughout the state of Texas following construction companies, living in Dallas for many years. His marriage ended with Etta in 1970. Leroy continued living in Dallas and retired as a turn key builder. He moved to Ardmore in 2019 where he has lived since. Leroy loved raising his game chickens and selling them to people in the Philippines. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rita Shamp, brothers, William Zupan, Neil McDonald, Doyal Dean McDonald, and Jerry McDonald. Leroy is survived by his son, Robert McDonald, of Ardmore, grandson, Chris McDonald and wife, Candace, of Norman, Okla., and granddaughter, Kasie Burns of Dickson, Okla. great-grandson, Bandy Burns, great-granddaughter, Rowan McDonald.
