Obituary of Ted Riemann Smith

Ted Riemann Smith, age 71, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, in Ardmore Okla. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am, Monday, November 25, 2024, in Rose Hill Cemetery with The Reverend Steve Skinner officiating. Ted was born on March 15, 1953, to William B. Smith and Edith Mae (Dykes) Smith in Gulfport, MS. He attended school at Pima, AZ. Ted married Dewana Berry on January 15, 1971. He enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of E-3 Engineer Equipment Repairman at Ft. Belvoir, VA. Ted was honorably discharged in 1973. The couple then moved back to Ardmore, Okla. Ted worked construction for various contractors throughout Carter County and his final position was with Kornhaas until his health forced him to retire in 1995. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. Ted was an avid OU football and girls-softball team fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. Smith, Edith Mae Windham, step-father, Leddrew Windham, brothers, Sidney Moulds, and Curtis Windham and special friend, Jerry Eubanks. Ted is survived by his wife, Dewana Smith of 53 years, children, Teddy Ray, Jody Shannon, and Cody Riemann Smith. Grandchildren, Tiffany Kay and spouse, Taylor Smith, Jayden Ray Smith, Tyler Joe Smith, Andrew B. (Andy) Smith, Olivia Hale, and Jacob Williams and great-granddaughter, Pheobe Pool. Brothers, Bobby Moulds, Randy Smith, Leddrew Windham Jr., and wife, Rose, and Joe Windham, sisters, Sue Valdez, and husband Art, Murtis Windham, and Mary Dewolfe and husband, Jeff, and numerous nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
