Emerald Lawrence “Elf” Floyd Sr., age 69, passed away on June 8, 2024, in Ardmore Okla. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with Cremation to follow under the care of Griffin ~ Hillcrest.

Also lovingly known as “Larry” he was born in Amarillo, TX on April 2, 1955, to Calvin Floyd and Dorothy (Clark) Floyd. He attended and graduated from Amarillo Schools. He worked for his father as a mechanic and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served and received his honorable discharge in 1973. Larry moved to Ardmore in 1977 and opened his own automotive shop called Floyd’s Automotive. He ran it as the owner and mechanic until 2010, when his health forced him to close. In 2008, he married Tina Agan in Dickson, Okla. Larry liked to raise a garden and anytime he could he loved the freedom of the road and riding his Harley Motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry is survived by his wife, Tina Floyd, of the home, son, Emerald Lawrence Floyd Jr. of Ardmore, Okla., brother, Terry Floyd, and wife Pam, of Calf. and sister, Connie Howard, and husband, Jim, of Canyon, TX.
