Anita Fern King, 84, passed away on May 28, 2026 in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10:30 AM, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Pastor Donny Custar officiating. Interment to follow at 3:00 PM, at Shady Grove Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Anita was born in Ardmore on February 3, 1942. Anita graduated from Dickson High School in 1960 and lived a life grounded in her Christian faith and devoted to the people she loved most — her family.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, Rosie Clifton Allen and Carson Clifton; her son, Scott King; her sisters, Nancy Richards, and June Reynolds; her brother, Glen Clifton; and her granddaughter, Kristy Combs.

Anita is survived by; her husband, Richard King, her daughters, Barbara Clamon, and Tammy Thomas and husband Gary Thomas; her grandchildren, Kimberly Gray, Stephanie Thomas, Scott Clamon and wife, Carley Clamon, and Jessica Burgess and husband, Doug Burgess; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Jackson Combs, Cian Forte, Olivia Clamon, Emma Clamon, Taylor Burgess, Rebecca Burgess, Aubrey Burgess, Natalee Burgess, Bobbi Burgess, and Rhettly Burgess; and one sister, Patricia Sowell.

Anita loved reading, candy, and her Diet Dr Pepper, but more than anything, she loved her family and all of her grandbabies. She was caring, loving, and patient. She never let anyone leave without telling them, “I love you,” and that love will remain with all who knew her.
