Gary Lee Ward II, age 37, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Ardmore, Okla.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, May 18, 2026, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore. A private family service will follow.

Gary was born on January 23, 1989, to Gary Lee Ward Sr. and Sharon Elaine Scott in Ardmore, Okla. He attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from Ardmore High School. Gary was a member of the Ardmore Track Club as a youth. Gary liked to read and had interests in history, as well as spirituality growth and music. He joined the United States Air Force on October 6, 2009, and was honorably discharged on October 6, 2017. Gary was diagnosed with brain stem cancer/tumor on December 8, 2017, and started cancer treatments in January of 2018.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Elaine Scott and her parents, Zeno Scott Sr. and Esterine (Stevenson) Scott, and his fathers parents, Edward Lee Ward and Elizabeth Pearle (Smith) Ward.

Gary is survived by his father, Gary Lee Ward Sr., sister, Jazmine Elaine Ward, sister, Rachelle Lynn Travis, nephews, Noah and Kye, aunts and uncles, Beverly Hill and husband, TC, of Ardmore, Jimmy Scott, Lynus Scott and wife, Denise, of Ardmore, Carl Scott of Tulsa, Velvet Kendrick of Lone Grove, Okla., Jessica Fagan of Ardmore, Zeno Scott Jr. and wife, Alice, of Sulphur, Okla., Michael Thomas of Ardmore, Arlene Jones, of Ardmore, Okla., Susan Brown, of Ardmore, Okla. and Ella Ward of Ardmore, Okla. and a host of cousins.
