Zela Mae Morgan, age 97, of Cheek, Oklahoma, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 3, 2026, at Cheek Baptist Church in Lone Grove, Okla. with Pastor Phil Ford officiating. Interment to follow in Morgan Rest Cemetery, in Wilson, Okla.

Zela was born on Feb. 24th, 1929, to Louis Holder and Vera (Stinnett) Holder in a farmhouse south of Wilson, Oklahoma. She married Forest Morgan on January 2nd, 1946. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. They built a wonderful life together.

Zela was a homemaker. She served in her church as a worship leader through songs and also as church clerk. She was also well known in her church for baking her pecan pies.

She would bake them for church fellowships, family gatherings, and take them to sick folks in her community.

Zela is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Holder and Vera (Stinnett) Holder, husband, Forest Morgan, two sisters, Katherin Goff and Linda Hammond, and an infant son.

Zela is survived by a daughter, Glenna Henson and her husband, Doug Henson, grandson Joshua Henson and his wife Blair Henson, granddaughter, Amanda Armstrong and her husband Eric Armstrong, great-grandson, Josiah Armstrong, great granddaughter, Lydia Armstrong, brother, Darrell Holder, and a host of family and friends.

Zela’s relationship with her Lord and Savior was the center of her life. Her great love for her family was expressed by how she taught them about Jesus. Because of this, her death is not the ending for them but only the beginning.

Pallbearers will be Colby Ashenfelter, David Ashenfelter, Jack Kemp, Ray Morgan, Aaron Roe, and Anthony Roe.
