Creigh Chadwell Obituary

Creigh Chadwell, 81, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and love on Saturday, January 10, 2026. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home in Ardmore, OK. Private interment to follow.


Creigh was born in Ardmore, OK, to Burl and Janie Chadwell. He was a devoted husband, father, and papa. He always faced life’s challenges with admirable strength and courage. His family was his pride and joy, and he was a constant source of support, guidance and unconditional love.


Creigh graduated from Ardmore High School in 1962. After high school, he attended Murray State College and then graduated from the Oklahoma School of Banking and Business. He volunteered to serve his country in the United States Air Force and was honored to be in the Strategic Air Command. He served one tour of duty in the Vietnam War and returned to the US where he completed his enlistment at Mather AFB in Sacramento, CA. He returned to Ardmore, OK in 1970 where he began his career at Uniroyal Tire Company, he was their Purchasing Agent for 35 years. He was highly respected by his colleagues for his detailed inventory management systems and a work ethic that was as meticulous as it was punctual.


Creigh was a car enthusiast and a passionate lifelong fan of OU Sooner football. He wouldn’t miss a weekend cheering on the Sooners. He was also a devoted fan of classic rock and roll music with Elvis being his favorite. He was an encyclopedia of 50’s and 60’s music and artists. His greatest joy was his family. As a father, he taught his daughters the value of loyalty, commitment, family unity, the importance of serving others, and the value of hard work and perseverance. He modeled forgiveness, patience, and unconditional love.


Creigh is survived by the love of his life of 58 years, Nancy; daughters and their spouses, Shana Callahan and Steve of Norman, OK; Lynley Ripple and Trey of Lakeway, TX; his three cherished grandchildren and spouses, Austin Callahan and Mandy of Norman, OK; Allyson McKay and Carson of OKC, OK; and Paige Ripple of Lakeway, TX. He was preceded in death by his son Jason Wayne Chadwell, parents, Burl and Janie Chadwell Jr., and grandparents Mathew and Edith Alexander.


Pallbearers will be; Steve Callahan, Trey Ripple, Austin Callahan, Carson McKay, Brandon Cypert and Brian Cypert. Honorary will be; Larry Cypert, and Jay Roberts.
