Rodney Glenn Shannon, age 60, passed away on December 16, 2025, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with interment to follow in Hickory Cemetery.

Rodney was born in Wilson, Okla. on July 29, 1965, to Earl Shannon and Arzelia (Pickens) Shannon. He was baptized at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He attended and graduated from Healdton Schools with the class of 1984. Rodney worked for a short time at Ponders restaurant as a cook and then went to work for Dollar General and then for Best Buy for the past twenty years.

Rodney married Lesia Maria Franklin in 1999 in Gainesville, Okla., a union that would last 26 wonderful years. Rodney was an avid OU fan and Dallas Cowboys fan. He liked to go hunting and his passion was fishing. Rodney enjoyed being with family at any family gathering.

Rodney was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo and Laura Shannon and Jim and Dollie Pickens, sister-in-law, Monique Shannon, mother and father-in-law, Charles E. Franklin Sr. and Alzada Franklin. Niece Sierra Shannon.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Lesia Shannon, four children; son, Caleb Elijah Shannon, son, Rodney Glenn Shannon Jr., daughter, Keaonna J. Shannon, and daughter, Kyla J. Franklin; three grandchildren; Aaliyah Paige Shannon, Julian Moreno, and Xavier Orion Tillman, parents, Earl Shannon and Arzelia (Pickens) Shannon, two brothers; James Maurice Shannon and Earl C. Shannnon Jr. and wife Gina. Rodney is also survived by three brother-in-laws; Charles E. Franklin, Jr., Kermit F. Franklin, and Sean E. Franklin and a host of family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, December 26th, 2025, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.
