Betty Sharon Maynard, age 76, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, December 19, 2025, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with Pastor Donny Custar officiating. Cremation with care to follow.

Betty was born on September 24, 1949, in Ardmore Okla. to JT Carter and Audrey (Cobb) Carter. The family moved to Springville, Calf. where she attended school. She married John Maynard in Bakersfield, Calf. on November 11, 1967. They moved to Sacramento, Calf. following the farming industry and in 1975 the couple split. Betty and her daughter landed in South Phoenix, AR. where she was a short order cook. In 1985, she and her daughter moved to Ardmore, Okla. where she was a cook at the Hill Top Café and then a breakfast host at the Holiday Inn. She loved people and never missed a chance to talk to anyone. Betty was an avid Cowboys fan, always rooting them on even when they were losing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Patsy Cox, brother, Johnny Carter, one infant, Timothy John Maynard and granddaughter, Baylie Jordan Smith.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Angel Smith and husband Gene, granddaughter, Dakota Paige Smith and grandson, Joe Cash Reed Croskell.
