Chellsee Ann Sampson Obituary

Chellsee Ann Sampson, a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and believer, passed on to her Heavenly Home on December 7th, at age 36. Chellsee transitioned peacefully at her Dickson residence while surrounded by laughter and loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Griffin Hillcrest Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Wall officiating. Interment to follow at Nelda Cemetery.

Chellsee was born on October 2, 1989 to Joyce and Jonathan “Johnny” Sampson. Chellsee will be remembered for her incredible wit, bright spirit, unconditional love, and her unique talent for giving the people she loved the most unforgettable nicknames. As we cherish the ones she gave us, we reflect on the many names she gained in life: Seshi, Anna, Boots, Chellsee Dog, Kiowa Staples, and many more.

Chellsee found joy in good food, sharing jokes, and spending time with her family. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she loved celebrating her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with unwavering devotion and service to others

Although Chellsee could not have children of her own, she embraced the role of mother in the most natural and loving way. She poured her heart into the children of the church, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Each of whom knew her as their steadfast supporter, comforter, and friend. Thank you for all you did for them “Anna”—a name they will hold close forever.

Chellsee’s laughter, kindness, and the tenderness she carried for those around her will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Chellsee and her memories are survived by her loving mother Joyce Sampson, two brothers, Ross Sampson and wife Hattie Sampson, Christopher Sampson, and sister Candace Sampson. She adored her six nephews and nieces Tayenn Sampson, Teyah Sampson, Tranaya Sampson, Kendrin Sampson, Everly Sampson, and Emma Sampson. Her life will continue to be celebrated through many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Chellsee was preceded in death by father Johnny Sampson and sister Kara Renee Sampson, as well as many other loving family members.
