Doretta was born to James and Mary Turnbow on June 18, 1934 at the parents home in Drumright, Oklahoma.

She graduated from Drumright High School in 1952 and Hillcrest Hospital School of Nursing in Tulsa in 1955.

Her 40+ year career in Nursing began in Tulsa at Hillcrest, with a stint at St Francis. She later moved back to her hometown of Drumright, where she worked in that hospital. It was in Drumright where she met and married her loving husband, Ronny D Patrick. They were married for 61 years.

Ronny's work carried them and their son Brad to many cities around the U. S. Doretta worked at hospitals in Tulsa, Drumright, Stillwater, Rockville, CT., Ardmore, Little Rock, Memphis, Rochester, NY and finally, Oklahoma City, where she retired in 1996. The family then moved to Ardmore to live in retirement near Ronny's father.

Doretta was on the heart team at Baptist Hospital in OKC, led by Dr. Nazih Zuhdi, which performed the first human to human heart transplant in Oklahoma. She was considered by her medical associates to be a complete professional wherever she worked.

Doretta was a member of First Baptist Church in Ardmore. She shared a high interest, with many of her friends, in the Baptist Home for Girls, in Madill.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Turnbow of Drumright, her sisters Joan Johnson of Broken Arrow and Donna Shideler of Drumright, and friend and sister-in-law Dixie Kaye Steele of Ardmore.

Doretta is survived by her husband Ronny of the home in Ardmore, their son Bradley D. Patrick of Ardmore, as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

She holds the Baptist Home for Girls in high regard and suggests donation to that group in lieu of flowers.
