David Thomas Carr, age 67, passed away on July 25, 2025, in Ardmore, Okla. Interment will precede services at 12:00 pm, Friday, August 8, 2025, at Seaman First Class Billy Turner Veterans Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 pm, at East Main Church of Christ, under the direction of the church. Cremation with care under the direction of Griffin~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
David was born on May 24, 1958, to David Thomas Carr, Jr. and Hulean C. (Gooden) Carr, in Ardmore, Okla. He attended Douglas and Ardmore Schools and at the age of 17, his mother signed so he could serve his country in the US Army. He served overseas and was stationed in Korea. David received his honorable discharge and then returned home. He married Stacy Young on July 25, 2002, in Ardmore, Okla.
David was always working to improve himself and achieved his associates, bachelor’s, and master’s Degrees. David was a published author, penned three books and even illustrated them. He was a talented artist.
He devoted himself to the care of others, working with the handicapped as a CNA and later as a CMA. David took an early retirement but continued to keep busy working as a handyman and in lawn care.
David was a movie buff; he liked Star Trek and Star Wars. His favorite tv show was Perry Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandfather, Simmon Gooden, grandmothers, Helen, and Virgina Gooden. Two aunts; Joyce and Helen, and one uncle Simmon Jr.
David is survived by wife, Stacy Young Carr, three brothers; Michael C. Carr and wife Donna, Robert D. Knight-Carr and husband Glen, Terry E. Carr and wife Elaine.
