Patricia Gayle (West) Hughes, age 83, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, in Ardmore, Okla. Private services were held.

Patricia was born on September 26, 1941, to Harold D. West and Myrtle Rose (Burgess) West in Ardmore, Okla. Patricia married Paul Gene Hughes on March 27, 1959, in Madill, Okla., by the Justice of the Peace. Patricia was a graduate of Ardmore High School and was very athletic. The couple grew up living across the street from each other since they were three. She lived her whole life in Ardmore with Paul for 66 plus years of marriage. Patricia and Paul have a son, Paul Gene Hughes Jr., and daughter, Belynda Ann Hughes. Patricia worked for Montgomery Ward for eight years and then worked for Samedan/Noble Affiliates for 28 years before retiring. In her retirement, she has shared many wonderful, loving years enjoying her time with her lifelong husband, Paul. They did everything together with her grand kids and great-grand kids. Patricia was a very loving, caring grandparent and a very sweet and precious mother that God blessed the family with. She was always more concerned with making sure everyone was comfortable and happy. Patricia has been a blessing to so many and will be very missed by her husband, Paul. He was by her side to the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Anita Wallace.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Paul Gene Hughes, son, Paul Gene Hughes Jr. and wife Kim, and daughter, Belynda Hughes, Sister, Barbara Hoffman, and husband, John, of Kingston, Okla. Five grandsons: Michael Paul Miles, Christopher K. Miles and wife, Lucero, Bryan Paul Hughes and wife Ashley, Tanner Ryan Hughes and wife Hayden, and James Robert Miles. Seven great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

The family wishes to thank those who helped take care of Patricia and a big thank you to Cross Timbers Hospice. God bless and Hallelujah that she is in Heaven and in no more pain.
