Billy Joe Washington Jr., age 63, passed away on July 6, 2025, in Tulsa, Okla. with his family and friends by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the McLish Church of Christ. Interment to follow in Burneyville Cemetery, Burneyville, Okla.

Billy was known to all his family and friends as B.J. He was born on September 25, 1961, to Billy J. Washington and Helen Bernice (Gooden) Washington in Lawton, Okla. He was the second child out of their six children. He attended school at Ardmore City Schools and then served in the United States Army. He was employed by several restaurants throughout Oklahoma as a Chef. B.J. changed his occupation and became a delivery driver for a company out of Dallas, Texas. For his final days and years on earth, he cut grass. B.J. resided in Ardmore, Okla., with a special person, Lea D. Walker, until God called her home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, niece, and nephew.

B.J. is survived by his daughters: Zepher Arnett of Ardmore, Donna Lee Washington of Tulsa, and sons: Billy J. Washington III of Norman, and Cody White of Texas. Sisters: Donna Washington and Leslie Goodou, both of Tulsa. Brothers: Kenneth Gooden Sr. of Ardmore, and Daryl Washington of Tulsa, and Eight grandchildren. Special children: James Houser of Florida, Brian Houser of Tishomingo, Charles Colbert of Jenks, Marc Price of New Jersey, 7 special grandchildren, 2 special great-grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, church family, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Gooden, Stewart Gordon, Terry Carr, Danny Gordon, William “Pedy” Gordon, and Jonathan Wright. Flower girls will be Joyce “Elaine” Gordon, Renada Carr, Janice Booker, and Toya Gordon.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, July 14, 2025, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.
