Tommy Gene Powell, age 72, gained his wings and went home to be with The Lord on July 4, 2025, in Ardmore, Okla. with his three children by his side. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Chaplain Matt Benedick officiating.

Tommy was born on July 12, 1952, to Richard A. Powell and Frances L. (Butler) Powell, in Ardmore, Okla. He attended and graduated from Ardmore High School with the Class of 1970. He went to work for Uniroyal/Michelin as a tire builder and retired after 30 years.

Tommy enjoyed spending time on Lake Murray, traveling and snow skiing. He loved attending all his grandchildren’s school events. He attended First Baptist Church of Ardmore. Tommy cherished his dog “Paws” and took him everywhere he went.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tommy is survived by his son, Chris Powell and wife Jessica of Ardmore, and Adam Powell and wife, Samantha, of Cheyenne, WY, daughter, Lindsay Hodson and husband David of Tualitan, OR., four grandchildren: Braden, Austin, Amelia and Skylar, brother, Rick Powell of Plano, Texas, and sister, Diane Curtis of Portland, OR.
