Erma Lea Stewart, age 96, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 14, 2025, at Hillcrest Memorial Park of Ardmore with Pastor John Hatfield and grandson, Dr. Cameron Whaley officiating. Erma was born on April 15, 1928, to John Washington Overstreet and Madge (Littrell) Overstreet at Marlow, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Marlow Schools. Erma went to work at Graves Drug Company and later at local grocery stores. At her last store, she was employed as a checker for Pratts Grocery. In 1964, Erma married Orvel L. Stewart and she became a homemaker. She will be remembered for her cooking. Erma loved to work with her hands in her flower garden and enjoyed the outdoors and feeding her birds. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dickson, Okla. Erma will be remembered as a loving wife and a mother who loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Johnny Crider, and infant daughter, Katrina. Erma is survived by two sons, Terry Crider and wife, Kellie, and Kent Whaley and wife, Andria, daughter-in-law, Dian Crider. Five grandchildren: Jason, Josh and wife, Lori, Cameron and his wife, Shannon, Terra and husband, Nick, and Pascha and husband, Carter. Twelve great-grandchildren: Abby, Emma, Evy, Elijah, Ezra, Korbin, Harper, Gabe, Olive, Kenton, Charli K., and William. One sister, Gearldeen Hill, and a host of family and friends.
