Melvin Fackler, age 77, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Ardmore, Okla. Private family services are planned for a later date.

Melvin was born on September 14, 1947, to Paul Fackler and Irene Silbaugh Fackler in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Lohrville HS, Lohrville Iowa. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1967 and served until his honorable discharge in 1969. He was a hard worker and did construction for most of his life. He will be remembered as a Train Master. Melvin loved to spend time investigating trains, going to the station to watch them, and collecting and making model trains.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his life partner, Elizabeth Anne Jamtgaard.

Melvin is survived by his daughter, Michelle Alvarez DeLos Santos and husband, Aaron, of Ardmore, Okla., grandchildren, Marissa Alvarez, Madalyne Alvarez and Aaron Alvarez, all of Ardmore Okla., sister, Ruth Carlson of Des Moines Iowa, And his feline companion, Shadow.
