Obituary of Jack Noel Hill

Jack Noel Hill, passed away on February 20, 2025, in Ardmore, Okla. at the age of 88. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, at Hillcrest Memorial Park. He was born August 19, 1936, to Ralph and Velma (Russell) Hill in Ft. Cobb, Okla. He was raised in Anadarko and Lawton OK where he graduated from Lawton High School in 1955. Jack was hired by the Post Office in 1956 as a clerk, later as a carrier, promoted to finance in 1972, Postal System Examiner in 1975, Postmaster of the Davis Post Office in 1979 and then Postmaster of the Ardmore Post Office in 1982; retiring from that position December 20th, 1991. He then went on to work as a bus driver for Plainview schools where he retired 13 years later as the Director of Transportation. In August of 1976 he met Lynda D. Weir and they were married January 15, 1977. Jack enjoyed OU football, fishing, woodworking, and woodcarving and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his step-father Harol Hart, mother Velma Hart, daughter Stephanie L. Hill, and brother, Donald Hill. Jack is survived by his wife, Lynda Hill, son Stephen E. and his wife Susanna, his daughter Stacey A. Hill, daughter Jana Nicholson and her husband Pat, daughter-in-law Jean Hill, sister Dixie Lutz and her husband Harold; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 2448 E. 81st Street, Suite 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137. Viewing will be held on Monday Evening, February 24, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.
