Obituary of Kathy Jean Buck

Kathy Jean Buck entered Heaven’s gates on Monday, February 17th, 2025, at the age of 73. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 21, 2025, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with The Reverend Walt Spradling officiating. Cremation with care under the direction of Hillcrest Crematory to follow. Kathy Jean Kirby was born on January 6th, 1952, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Doris Weldon Kirby and Nettie “Lucille” Kirby. Kathy attended Plainview Public School all through her childhood years and graduated High School in 1970. After graduating high school, Kathy began working in Ardmore as a paralegal taking several courses at OU law school. She worked in Ardmore for Colbert and Colbert, and Valentine and Valentine law firm in Yukon, Oklahoma. Later, she worked for OG&E in Ardmore. She then worked as an Administrative Assistant at Mercy Memorial Hospital and a receptionist for the Ardmore YMCA. Kathy had a passion for baking and was one of the best pie makers in Ardmore. She made everyone feel special and made sure they had their favorite dessert at any shared meal. She also professionally decorated cakes while living in Yukon in her home bakery. She was a talented young woman who always continued to show her love by giving and cooking. Most importantly, Kathy was a Christian and attended church her entire life. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Assembly of God, Lighthouse Assembly of God, Northwest Assembly of God, and Crystal Rock Cathedral. She devoutly served the Lord, Jesus Christ, and showed her Christian values to everyone she was in contact with. She was the epitome of selflessness and unconditional love and a great example to each of us in her faith. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Lucille Kirby, her brother Harry Don Kirby, and niece Penelope Jean Kirby. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jimmy Ray Buck of Ardmore, son, Kelsey Shane Ralls of Ardmore, daughter, Jennifer Dawn Moore and husband Scott Moore of Ardmore, and son Trent Wayne Buck and wife, Ashley Buck of Louisville, Nebraska. Grandchildren: Elaina Ralls, Alex Ralls, Isaiah Ralls, Jaden Ralls, Alessa Ralls, Katie Barnard and husband Richard Barnard Jr., Cody Moore, and Tyler Moore. Great Grandchildren, Ayden Barnard and Averie Barnard, and sister-in-law, Madeline “Aint Maine” Kirby. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.
