Obituary of James Monroe Mose

James Monroe Mose, age 75, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at his home in Madill, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2025, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest in Ardmore, Okla., with Deacon Johnny Wallace officiating. Cremation to follow under the care of Hillcrest Crematory, Ardmore.
James was born in Talihina, Oklahoma, on September 3, 1949, to Dorsey and Anita (Palmer) Mose. He attended Madill schools, James married Roberta Marie Wallace on June 19, 1969, in Madill. He went to work for Valero in 1972 and retired in 1996 after 24 years of employment. James built cars and loved drag racing. He liked going to swap meets and watching his Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenneth Mose, and sister, Dorislene Morgan.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Roberta Wallace Mose, son, Leslie Mose and wife, Christie, of Madill, and daughter, Jamie Mose of Ardmore. Grandchildren: Natasha Hester, Stephen Mose and his significant other, Ramee Denham, Joshua Mose and wife, Kelli, and Brandon Mose and wife, Jordyn. Great-grandchildren: River Mose, Rylin Mose, Hunter Mose, Eli Mose, Waylon Mose, Brooklyn Mose, Reannan Box, Anissa Box, Kelsie Box, and Leslie Box. Great-great-grandchild, Willow Fitzgerald. Sisters, Shirley Mose and Christine Lewis, and brother, Don Mose, all Lone Grove, Okla.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, February 5, 2025, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.
