JoAnna Gail Cantley, age 54, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Madill, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Durwood Cemetery, Marshall County, Okla., with Pastor Stan Shomo officiating.

JoAnna was born in Claremore, Okla., on January 4, 1971, to Lonzo and Gloria Baptiste. She attended and graduated from McLain High School, Tulsa, Okla., and the Bryan Institute, taking her nursing classes in Tulsa, Okla. She married Ambus Ray Cantley on February 25, 1991, in Tulsa, Okla. The couple moved to Ardmore, Okla., in 2006, where she worked for Lakeland Nursing Home and then for Elm Brook Nursing Home and back to Lakeland and later took an early retirement. JoAnna was proud of her Choctaw heritage and would not miss an event or powwow. She enjoyed crocheting and would love to make everyone blankets and hats. She loved to play dominos with family. JoAnna was a religious person, one of her favorite things was her Bible. She was a member of Durwood Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonzo and Gloria Baptiste, daughter, Amber Cantley, brother, William Baptiste, sisters: Tracy Garcia and Lenoa Carol Baptiste, niece, Thalia Baptiste, and brother-in-law, Troy Harris.

JoAnna is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ambus Ray Cantley, of Ardmore, children: Matthew Caleb Cantley and Serita Nykole Cantley and fiancé, Jaden Seifman, all of Ardmore. Sister, Rose West and husband, Dana, of Chickasha, Okla., sister-in-law: Regina Lott, Tena Cantley, Barbara Cantley, and Barbara Berry, and brothers-in-law: Johnny Harris, Larry Harris, and Robert Cantley. Nephew, Tynen Garcia-Baptiste, great-niece, Sapphire Armenta, and host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be from held on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, February 4, 2025, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.
