Elizabeth Ann (Potter) Shannon, age 80, was called home to her heavenly father on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Ardmore, Okla. twelve years to the day after she lost her beloved husband, George. Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2023, at The Asbury United Methodist Church in Ardmore. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore. Elizabeth was born to February 2, 1943 in Ft. Scott, Kansas to Hugh C. Potter and Eva Elizabeth (Greer) Potter. Elizabeth married Ronald George Shannon on December 26, 1962, at Manhattan, Kansas. She and George moved to Ardmore where they enjoyed many years of vacationing as a family and fishing in Lake Murray. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald George Shannon, siblings, Howard Smith and wife, Lucille; Mabel (Smith) Frye and husband, Don; Gerald (Firpo) Smith and wife, Pat; Virgil Smith, Homer Potter and wife, Gail; Shirley (Potter) Mitzner and husband, Johnny; brother-in-law, Bill Weatherbie, and dear friend, Susan Wood. Elizabeth is survived by her two beloved daughters: Kelly Sue Shannon and best friend, Margaret Tollison, of Ardmore and Valerie Ann Throneberry and husband Audie, of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Cory Mitchell Jordan, of Ardmore and, Brooke Elizabeth Eubanks and boyfriend, Cameron Phelps, of Van Buren, Arkansas; sister, Margaret (Smith) Weatherbie, of Ponca City; beloved dogs, Bear and Nala, and Grandcats, Ariel and Ireland. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and devoted family friends. Pallbearers will be Cory Jordan, Cameron Phelps, Doug Potter, Jonathan Wright, Parker Wright and Newt Wright.
