Ernest Wayne “Sissy Boy” Weldon, age 83, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Madill, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, April 3, 2017, at Oakview Baptist Church in Oakland, Okla., with Pastor Greg Idell officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla. Ernest was born on May 17, 1933, to Lester Jefferson Weldon and Oma Cleo (Price) Weldon, at Madill, Okla. He married Miss LaTrelle Andrews on November 4, 1956, in Russett, Okla. Ernest worked many years in the soda pop and theater business and retired from Carmike Theaters. He was an avid fan of any football game he could watch, but if he could say he loved one team, it would be the Green Bay Packers. He loved supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren when they played any sports. Any time he could get his family together to play an ongoing volleyball game, he was there and would serve as the captain of his team. Over the years, he bowled on many teams. Some of his teams would have all of the family. Ernest was a member of Madill Baptist Church but was presently in attendance at Oakview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Jefferson Weldon, mother, Oma Cleo “Chig” Allen and step-father, Ed Allen, and one sister, Melba Jean Flint. Ernest is survived by his wife, LaTrelle Weldon of the home, three children: Ronda and husband, Derrell Mefford, Jeffery Weldon and wife, Kathy, and Randy Weldon and wife, Gena, eight grandchildren: Terri Salmon and husband, Robert, Mistie Snider and husband, Johnny, Wayne Mefford and wife, Kristy, Andrea Eskridge and husband, Jerry, Amanda Gaither and husband, Charlie, Randall Weldon and wife, Sarah, and Nicholas Weldon, and eleven great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Salmon, Johnny Snider, Wayne Mefford, Jerry Eskridge, Charlie Gaither, Randall Weldon, and Nicholas Weldon. Honorary bearers will be Robert Blount and Nathanial Mefford. Visitation will be Sunday evening, April 2, 2017, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
