Carl Wesley Adcock, age 70, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla., with Captain Nick Garrison officiating. Carl was born on May 5, 1945, to Hershell Adcock and Marillo (Waddle) Adcock at Texarkana, Texas. He graduated with the Class of 1964 from Ardmore High School. Carl worked for the City of Ardmore as a meter reader, secretary, and with Operation Pride for over forty-one years. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church of Ardmore. He taught Sunday School and also served as the substitute minister when needed. He was a volunteer at the food pantry and the soup kitchen. Carl loved to take his little dog Bear on walks. He also enjoyed the cats he had adopted over the years. He enjoyed going to Braums and the Family Dollar Store and would often visit with people he knew at local businesses. He never knew a stranger. Carl loved his family and friends. He loved to serve the Lord and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Calvin Adcock, and sister-in-law, Anita Adcock. Carl is survived by his sister, Diane Marentes, and brother, Terrance Adcock. Nephew, Michael Roberts, and wife, Mandy, and great-nieces; Shelby Roberts and Abigail Roberts. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Cox, Alvin Rambo, Jerry Halfacre, James Markert-Halfacre, Russell Johnson, and Jason Johnson. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, January 4, 2015, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin~Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla.
